Kaew now has a Future

Sustainable Hope International (SHI) is seeing history made in its scholarship program in Thailand this year. SHI has been established just over four years and already three of our scholars have graduated from their university programs. This is one of three stories of our three graduates that we will be sharing with you in the coming days.

If you read the story titled “Kaew’s Story” you will understand how important this mile ston is in the life of Kaew. If you remember Kaew’s had many obstacles to overcome and when in the Government Boarding school she voiced her concern of what her future was. After graduation with the aid of one of her teachers and the contacts she had and contributors to Sustainable Hope International, Kaew enrolled in the Rajamangala University of Technology Par Nakhom in Bangkok Thailand in the hotel management, culinary arts and restaurant management program.

During her studies there were many projects that she was assigned to complete. She learned how to make flower arrangements, how to carve fruits and vegetables and how to produce many exotic dishes that goes along with the program. The management and accounting principles of the hotel and Restaurant industry was a new language for her but she excelled in the challenges of the profession. She even authored a cookbook to help fund her cost of her education.

This last year has not been an easy one for her as she lost her mother and with the protest in Bangkok her school was closed and she had to make up days that were missed due to the closures. During her last semester she had an internship in one of Bangkok’s leading hotel, the Oriental Hotel which made for an excellent reference that will help pave the way for future employment.

Now that she has graduated from Rajamangala University of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, culinary arts and restaurant management. She now has a future. In fact this has not only opened up the possibilities in her chosen field of employment but she is now exploring different opportunities that her training has provided.

Kaew wants to express her profound thanks to the many people that have helped contribute to her overcoming the obstacles that made it possible to receive her degree. Sustainable Hope International is proud to honor Kaew as one of our first three graduates. With your help we together are making a difference in the lives of at-risk and poor students in our world.
